DNA Backend

DNA Backend API

HTTP API behind the DNA (Dailies Notes Assistant) web app. Build on it to read what is in review, write and publish notes, drive meeting transcription, or feed a transcript in from your own tool.

Two kinds of endpoint

  • Production Tracking endpoints proxy the configured provider (ShotGrid, or a read-only mock). DNA stores nothing for them; IDs are the provider's own, passed through as opaque strings.
  • DNA endpoints read and write DNA's own storage: draft notes, per-playlist review state, transcripts, user settings, QC checks and glossaries. The Publishing endpoints push that data into the tracking provider.

Authentication

Send Authorization: Bearer <token> on every request except Health. The configured AUTH_PROVIDER validates the token (Google OAuth in production) and extracts the caller's email; most calls only return data when that email belongs to a user in the tracking provider. Errors are {"detail": "..."}.

Real-time

Events stream out over the /ws WebSocket and the browser extension streams transcripts in over /transcription/extension/ingest. WebSockets are not part of this document; they are described on the docs site.
